About the Artist

Gulnaz Turdalieva is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Working across painting, mixed media, photography, and illustration, she explores memory, identity, belonging, and the quiet moments that shape our lives.

Her work is influenced by everyday experiences, nature, travel, and cultural heritage. Rather than documenting a place or event literally, she is interested in the emotions, colours, and impressions that remain. Her paintings often move between abstraction and recognisable forms, developing through colour, texture, layering, and mark-making.

Gulnaz's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Windsor-Essex, including Artspeak Gallery, SB Contemporary Gallery, Gibson Gallery, and Mackenzie Hall.

Alongside her studio practice, she is the founder, creative director, and editor of Art Create Learn, an independent arts publication and creative community that celebrates artists and supports the visual arts.

Her practice continues to move between painting, photography, and illustration, allowing each medium to offer a different way of looking, remembering, and making.
